Chipper Cash
Chipper Cash ending (1 of 5 Unicorns in Africa, present in over 8 countries) was on the rise in The FinTech industry in Africa. However with almost 100 other fintech companies adopting the same communication direction, CHIPPER CASH needed to rise above this to get the attention required. DottsMedia was tasked to design a comms strategy and execution that will set Chipper apart thus helping to increase share of voice and users at large.

Problem Statement
Chipper Cash, despite being a prominent player in the African FinTech industry, faced stiff competition from numerous other companies adopting similar communication strategies. With nearly 100 other fintech companies vying for attention, Chipper Cash needed to differentiate itself to capture the spotlight and increase its user base.

A communication/Visual strategy and execution that would elevate Chipper Cash above its competitors, increasing its share of voice and attracting more users across the African continent.

My Role
I played a crucial role in developing a distinctive visual identity for Chipper Cash. Our solution revolved around embracing minimalistic design with a bold use of purple as the primary colour, symbolizing innovation, trust, and uniqueness.
Introduced a striking visual element called the "spotlight," a blurred white circle strategically placed behind Chipper Cash's ambassadors in all communication materials. This spotlight not only highlighted the ambassadors but also created a visual distinction that deviated from conventional advertising approaches in the industry.
Furthermore, the choice of typography featured bold fonts for messaging, ensuring clear and impactful communication across billboards, digital assets, and other marketing collateral. This minimalist yet bold approach helped Chipper Cash to break through the clutter and grab the audience's attention effectively.
Process
Brainstorming and ideating visual concepts that would differentiate Chipper Cash from competitors while aligning with the overall communication strategy.
Implementing the chosen design concepts across various marketing materials, ensuring consistency and visual coherence. Ex: OOH, Lampposts, Bus, Digital
Choosing the appropriate color palette (predominantly purple) and typography (bold fonts) that would resonate with the target audience and convey the desired brand attributes.
Developing the visual element of the spotlight and strategically incorporating it into the design to create a unique and attention-grabbing effect.
Engaging in feedback loops with the creative director and strategy team to refine and enhance the designs based on their input and strategic objectives.

Result
The digital campaigns & Sponsored ads ran on Youtube, Instagram, Twitter, Linkedin with the distinctive visuals helped the brand gain over 7Million+ users across African Markets.
By end of 2022, CHIPPER CASH had become the fastest growing fintech brand and one of 5 unicorns in Africa amongst (Flutterwave, Interswitch etc)
Digital / billboard / TV & Radio execution led to Top of mind awareness for the brand in less than a year, which in turn helped the brand raise over 300Million USD in their series B funding.
The campaign generated 2-10M REACH for digital campaigns executed using influencers & blogs and 15-500M IMPRESSIONS + VIRAL HASHTAGS using the created TVC and other designed visual assets.
